Title: Is there any way to flash the firmware without erasing the file system?
Post by: michele_sponchiado on February 17, 2017, 06:59:16 PM
Hi folks,
as you know, when the firmware is updated on RT5350f platform, the MAC address is wiped out and it should be restored.
I wonder if someone can tell me how it is possible to change the firmware flash update so that the file system is not wiped out, so I can retain e.g. the MAC address and all of the settings in the file system?
many thanks!

Hi,

what method are you using to upgrade your firmware? The MAC is stored on the 'factory' flash partition, and it's not affected by using the OpenWrt upgrade methods (as it deals only with the 'firmware' partition)
