Post by: d4 on October 22, 2016, 11:59:24 AM
Dear Olimex, dear all,

there have been many security advisories regarding the linux kernel, most recent and dangerous is CVE-2016-5195 ; how can we update the linux kernel ?  Is there a new kernel available from you, or should we compile it new? (In case, how?)

I have a A20-olinuxino-lime ; but general instructions would useful to everybody.

Thanks, a.

There are wiki/wordpress articles about kernel build so if you want the fixes just follow them or maybe such as armbian already do it?

As vulnerabilities surface quite often you want to DIY if you want to keep up.

Excellent!

It doesn't look likely to affect many uC Linux systems, though.
