Good day,
I try to use MSP430-BSL to program MSP430F5438a and MSP430F5419a processors viat BOOTST connector of the MSP-TS430PZ5x100 ( http://www.ti.com/tool/MSP-TS430PZ5x100 ) development board and BSL-Scripter and I'm stuck with the following issues:
- If I just connect MSP430-BSL via USB to my PC, I cannot communicate with the MSP430F54XXa processors(I dont get any response over UART) and I measure 2.8V on the J5 (PWR) connector of the development board
- If I connect JTAG (MSP430-JTAG-TINY-V2) to the MSP-TS430PZ5x100 (JP3 jumped to "int"), I can communicate with MSP430F5419a BSL but I still cannot get any response from MSP430F5438a. The voltage on the J5 is 3.3V in the setup
- If I connect MSP430-JTAG-TINY-V2, after that MSP430-BSL to my PC and disconnect MSP430-JTAG-TINY-V2 (after the MSP430-BSL USB PnP procedure is terminated normally), I can communicate with MSP430F5419a BSL and the voltage on the J5 is 2.56V... but I cannot get any response from MSP430F5438a anyway
- If I power the MSP-TS430PZ5x100 externally (over J5 connector) with 3.3V, I can communicate with MSP430F5419a BSL but I still cannot get any response from MSP430F5438a
I understand that the MSP430-BSL is supposed to be connected to USB only and doesn't require any external power source.
Could you please point me what do I do wrong in the setup and how should it be powered?Any thoughts/suggestions are welcome and appreciated
