Title: MSP430-P2618 + MSP430-JTAG-TINY-V2
Post by: ptrodrigues on April 08, 2016, 01:50:25 AM
Good night,
I am a student and I am working on a project that is going to use the OLIMEX MSP430-P2618 Proto-board. We got the board and the JTAG adaptor but when trying to debug the project, even if a simple led blink, the board shutdown (turning LED off). If you RST the board it connects but it hasn't been progammed. It is powered by the JTAG, should it have EXT power? we have been debating this issue, and we need the board to work on a project. Thank you for your patience.
Best Regards
We are using IAR IDE and we got the below warning:

Hey,

The error window says "External voltage: 0.0V" and "VCC voltage: 0.0V". This seems like a lack of powering. You target doesn't appear powered - change the position of P_OUT/P_IN PTH jumper and try again.

Ensure that the JTAG is capable of providing power.

Try with external power supply applied to the power jack.

Refer to the user's manual for more details on the power supply required: https://www.olimex.com/Products/MSP430/Proto/MSP430-P2618/resources/MSP430-P2618.pdf

Best regards,
