When I switched to win10 I was requested to update the firmware from 17 to 18.
Trouble is that I can't understand and follow the instructions.
- Install Atmel Flip. OK
-Open it's install folder. What install folder? In the folder Flip lies one file
Flip installer3.4.7.112.exe. is this the one? There is nothing else?
- From file > load hexfile"chose this Hex" (CLICK FOR DOWNLOAD "and click run
completely incomprehensible. What hex should I chose?
Hey Bjornj,
Please refer to chapter "4.2.1 Changing firmware for Windows users" that starts page 14 of the user's manual. The user's manual is available at the following link: https://www.olimex.com/Products/AVR/Programmers/AVR-ISP-MK2/resources/AVR-ISP-MK2.pdf (https://www.olimex.com/Products/AVR/Programmers/AVR-ISP-MK2/resources/AVR-ISP-MK2.pdf)
You need to use latest AVR456-studio-AVRISP-MKII.hex, it is available here: https://www.olimex.com/Products/AVR/Programmers/AVR-ISP-MK2/resources/AVR456-studio-AVRISP-MKII.zip (https://www.olimex.com/Products/AVR/Programmers/AVR-ISP-MK2/resources/AVR456-studio-AVRISP-MKII.zip)
After the firmware update is complete make sure to use these drivers with the programmer and Windows 10: https://www.olimex.com/Products/AVR/Programmers/AVR-ISP-MK2/resources/DRIVER-MK2-AS-6-7-W10.zip (https://www.olimex.com/Products/AVR/Programmers/AVR-ISP-MK2/resources/DRIVER-MK2-AS-6-7-W10.zip)
Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX
HI
The readme for this firmware says "The firmware binaries in this folder work only with Atmel/Jungo drivers
(they are used mainly for AVR/Atmel Studio)!!!"
This does not seem to work with AVRDUDE as the original firmware in the AVR ISP MK2 did
patrickf
Doesn't it though?
