Title: Power Olinuxino Maxi from 7.2V battery
Post by: drazvan on December 02, 2012, 06:20:06 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm trying to come up with a system that would use a 7.2V battery to power an Olinuxino Maxi and an attached modem (connected to UEXT and the 5V supply).

The questions are:

1. Can I hook up 7.2V to the battery input or will it fry everything (the documentation only tells you what happens when you use a standard 3.7V LiPo).

2. Can I put the device to sleep / wake it up using either a GPIO pin or by connecting to the PWR_BUT button somehow? The modem I'm using has a wakeup pin that it switches to "high" when there's an incoming call. I'd like to keep the Olinuxino asleep until there's a call. Is this implemented yet?

3. Will the 5V output still be on while the Olinuxino is asleep? The modem still needs power, even when the Olinuxino sleeps.

Thank you!
Razvan

do not connect 7V to the battery connector
imx233 is designd to work and charge LiPo 3.7V-4.2V battery!
