Title: openSUSE for A10-OLinuXino-LIME
Post by: frank on December 22, 2014, 04:07:14 PM
Hi,

I added A10-OLinuXino-LIME to openSUSE Factory. The current image type that is supported is JeOS (Just enough Operating System), which is a minimum system image. To install it use a minimum 2GiB micro SD:

- download this image: http://download.opensuse.org/ports/armv7hl/factory/images/openSUSE-Factory-ARM-JeOS-olinuxinolime.armv7l-Current.raw.xz
- decompress it.
- put it on the micro SD (with dd, etc. as already known by the debian image.)
- put the SD in your A10-OLinuXino-LIME and power it
- wait (you can see the progress on serial console if you have applied)
- it will request an IP via DHCP on Ethernet
- login is root:linux

Small update:

I added full support for A10-OLinuXino-LIME and A20-OLinuXIno-LIME2 to openSUSE Factory. Find the installation instructions here: https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:A10-OLinuXino-LIME and here: https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:A20-OLinuXIno-LIME2

Currently supported desktops are E17, LXQT, XFCE and JeOS (text based). The default graphics device is on HDMI output, but also LCDs are supported. The board support is in openSUSE Factory, which is a rolling release, including 'Latest and Greatest' packet versions.

The packets are built by the openSUSE OBS Service (https://build.opensuse.org) whenever newer packets and their dependencies are available.

Support for other Olimex Allwinner boards? Could be added, but I have no test hardware for verification.

Hi,

now also A13-OLinuXino, A20-OLinuXino-LIME and A20-OLinuXino-MICRO supported by openSUSE.

Find more infos here: https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:ARM

uboot version is 2015-7-rc2, kernel is version 4.0.4. With that the sunxi has a bug with graphics output which prevents the kernel from booting with some display resolutions (1920x1200 in my test). Patch is already in 4.1 release candidates, that will be taken into use after next kernel release (with some days of delay of course).
