Title: kernel upgrade in a running LIME
Post by: iz4ako on September 09, 2014, 09:34:32 AM
Hello,
I have a LIME and I installed the first image so I have kernel 3.4.67. Then I installed some application and I don't want to load into my SDCARD the latest image because I don't want to re-install my application.

But how can upgrade kernel to 3.4.90 ?

If I'm not mistaking (I am currently not using the Olimex Debian image), you need to replace the kernel which is (I think) on the first partition of the SD Card and called uImage. You can replace this kernel by your own kernel and that should work.

You probably also need to add the modules that come with your newer kernel and place them in /lib/modules/<kernel version number>.
