Hi
I bought an eeg-smt device, but with new drivers the
device doesn't give no signal in output. I installed the
older diriver noting that the device works, but
unfortunately after a short time the crazy mouse
syndrome come to manifest. It's clear that the product I
purchased is equipped with an IC FT232RL that has the bug
mentioned in the forum and in this state the device
becomes unusable. In fact even though I disable the
mouse and touch pad do not know how I could using a PC.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
Hello CB,
For installation instructions please refer to chapter "2.4 How to setup the board, peripherals and your personal computer" on page 8 of hte user's manual here: https://www.olimex.com/Products/EEG/OpenEEG/EEG-SMT/resources/EEG-SMT.pdf (https://www.olimex.com/Products/EEG/OpenEEG/EEG-SMT/resources/EEG-SMT.pdf)
Only FTDI chips with 1213-C mark were affected and the issue was resolved by the end of 2013. All devices manufactured in 2014 should not have the issue. Inspect your FTDI chip and check if it has 1213-C written on its back. If it doesn't you can use the latest drivers.
Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX
Everything works when I install the driver 2.08.14 and the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\sermouse value=4.
Likely I have a FTDI chip with code 1213-C even though I bought eeg-smt eeg in February 2014 (I did not open the device to see the chip to avoid losing your warranty).
Best regards
Carlo
