Title: iMX233 as set top box ?
Post by: dido on August 13, 2014, 03:51:22 PM
Hi, all
I am starting a new project, and currently looking for suitable hardware.
I was wondering, can I use the iMX233 as an Android based -set-top box / WiFi Access Point ? My requirements also include having an RF Input. Perhaps I can encode the signal and display it in a suitable player in Android ?

Hello,

I think that it would be better to go with bigger cpus. If you need video + audio on your setopbox. Take a board with hdmi interface and android compatible?

IMX233 will be verry bad at handling android imho.

I would look at the Allwinner Olimex boards -- they already have Android ported to them (IIRC).
