Title: imx233 UART troubles w/ gtkterm
Post by: xaero26 on April 18, 2014, 05:15:02 PM
Hello :)

I've got a little problem with my imx233-mini(using the Debian Squeeze FS with Open Embedded Kernel 2.6.35): every time I try to connect via GtkTerm (on Ubuntu 13.10), I get weird symbols like !57-5I(T* When I switch to hexadecimal view, the output is like "8F AD EB E5 00".
When entering the login and password in Hex-strings, nothing happens, so I guess there must be something wrong....
Any ideas?

I am connecting to the mini via pl2303 usb to serial converter. As I'm relatively new to this topic so any help would be apprechiated.

Kind regards

Hello,

Do you have set the right baudrate in serial setting? It should be 115200.

Hello,

I already found out that the problem was the usb-serial converter...
The voltage level was way too high (measured 9.4V, I'm glad I didn't ruin the board).

After using the serial connection of my RPi it works fine.

Kind regards
