Title: A10 LIME Box size and LiPo
Post by: flobber on March 28, 2014, 05:49:51 AM
Does the 1400mAh LiPo battery fit into the box of
the A10 Lime (together with the board, of course)?
If yes, does it fit even if the heatsink for the A10
is mounted?  Is air circulation still sufficient?

I don't really need the capacity of 1400mAh.  Just
enough to let the system run for about 10 to 15
minutes @2A and then perform a clean shutdown.
But I think that smaller batteries (i.e. a 600mAh)
won't supply the current.

Btw, afaics there's no pad for an RTC battery (pin 30
of the AXP209).  If you ever make another version
of the board, could you add 2 solder pads (battery
and GND) for connecting a coin cell battery?

Thanks.

The box is a tight fit. And if you are using the hardware acceleration, it gets warm in there with a heatsink, so you will need to probably drill a few holes for circulation. You will have to mount the battery externally.
Might be best to make your own enclosure, especially if you want access to the GPIO pins.
