Title: What is the best way to drive speakers from LIME
Post by: visionimpaired on February 10, 2014, 09:26:37 AM
Hello everyone.

I would like to drive some speakers from my new LIME board. I have a USB dongle like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Virtual-5-1-surround-External-Sound-Card/dp/B000N35A0Y
I will try to get it running.

My question is, it possible to drive the speakers directly from the LIME board without the need for an adapter or powered speakers from the headphone socket?

If so, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TIA
V.

This sound card will work, but you have to recompile kernel to add usb-sound support.

If you need it, I can send you kernel binaries or config file.

Hi SencillamenteIvan.

It would be great if you could send me a link to the kernel binaries.

Thanks you in advance.

Sure!

I share it in google drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxHHTHRSuVQaNU4yaW81Z05qVjA/edit?usp=sharing

This kernel has usb sound/serial/3g modem support.

If you want to use 3g modem you'll need usb-modeswitch package.

Enjoy it!
