Title: MSP430-JTAG (parallel port) and Window 7
Post by: Orvol on December 03, 2013, 05:18:46 PM
Hi.

I just got your MSP430-JTAG with parallel port connector and I wonder if it's compatible with windows 7?
And if it is, can you give me some tips for a beginner.

Thank you in advance.

Hey Orvol,

We haven't been able to run it under Windows Vista/Windows 7. I haven't received any feedback that anybody actually managed to use it with a newer Windows than Windows XP.

The only way of using MSP430-JTAG with Windows Vista/7 I know, would be to use virtual machine that runs XP. Like explained here: http://ggproject.wordpress.com/tag/jtag/ (http://ggproject.wordpress.com/tag/jtag/).

Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX

Hi.

I have one more question.
I've been using MSP430-JTAG for months (Thank you again, LubOlimex). Yesterday it worked and suddenly it started to give me warnings that it could not find the device.
Is there any way i can test the MSP430-JTAG with oscilloscope, because my guess is it is something physically wrong with connector?
Or maybe you have some other idea about warnings?

I hope you will be able to help me and thank you in advance.
