Title: Boot from USB
Post by: aerius on October 26, 2012, 07:24:42 PM
Hi olimex,

i just played around with the A13. I built a bootable sdcard with debian as explained on blog post [1]. The same did i with an USB-Stick (without success). On page 17 18 in your manual [2] you wrote about "boot devices" including "USB". What did i wrong? Can your or someone else help me?

regards,
aerius

I think it may only boot via USB via a mechanism undisclosed by the chip maker (Allwinner) other than in the guise of LiveSuite.

If you want to research this you might start with the vague details available for the A10 and hope they apply to the A13.  Expect to spend quite some time hunting around the net.

I expect a USB protocol analyser would be a help.

Summary: I don't think it boots in the way you hoped.
