Title: Mounting EEG electrods
Post by: lukjez on September 03, 2013, 08:50:10 PM
Hi. Mayby it's stupid question, but what is the best way to mounting properly EEG electrods (from Olimex) on head. Do I have to shave a head? :) , How to "glue" electrods to skin on head? use a plaster/slice ? Any sugestion? I have 4 active and one passive electrod.
Cheers.

Hey lukjez,

I personally use headband or tight hat. Tape is also a good choice but sometimes it is unpleasant when you remove it.

Removing hair is required when you aim for better reading results - better contact - better results. The same applies for the electrolyte gel.

From my experience it is perfectly fine not to shave the spots for the electrodes and not to use glue.

Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX

Hey Olimex.
Thx for reply.
Yesterday i was try to run EEG-SMT with electords mounting to my forehead and receding hairline ;) and ear by plain sticky tape and it's works :) - i received the correct wave EEG. But it's only temporary solution. I have idea to buy a rubber, swimming cap and it should be enough to stable mounting of electrods. To mounting electrod to ear I think , should enough using washing clip.

Regards.
