Title: NFC module compatible with A13 (or ARM in general)
Post by: Thomas on October 18, 2012, 02:27:57 PM
Hi there !
I see there are some RFID modules in Olimex website (https://www.olimex.com/Products/Modules/RFID/MOD-RFID1356/). So it should exist NFC modules compatible with it also.

I found some NFC modules (USB socket), but when I ask vendors/constructors about ARM compatibility, they all reply they are not compatible (x86 only) or they don't know.

Question 1 :
Does everyone know a NFC module compatible with A13 ? I am seeking for something compatible with tags Mifare s50 or Mifare UltralightC. (I need authentication)

Question 2 :
A13 has I2C sockets. Is a NFC module with I2C socket compatible, or there are still incompatibility risks ?
I am thinking about this one (not available yet) : http://www.skyetek.com/ProductsServices/EmbeddedRFIDReaders/SkyeModuleGemini/tabid/197/Default.aspx

Thank you !
Thomas.

MOD-RFIF125 and MOD-RFID1356 will work with any USB host which supports CDC and Keyboard HID

Yes, but I need something compatible with Mifare Ultralight C and Mifare s50. For MOD-RFIF125 and MOD-RFID1356 it is written in the datasheet " will not read MIFARE tags".

Because you are a specialist of A13, could you give me pieces of advices for my questions ?

Many thanks Mr. Olimex :)
Thomas.
