Title: UART with MSP430-T5510
Post by: rampadc on August 09, 2013, 07:03:04 PM
Hi, can you help me with using UART with the MSP430-T5510? Do I need to purchase your MOD-USB-RS232 module, or can I use an existing Launchpad?

Hey rampadc,

The board has just one UART that is located on the UEXT connector. You can take RX and TX from there.

MOD-USB-RS232 would allow you to communicate with a PC via a USB port (UEXT<->USB<->PC). If your computer has a COM port you might use MOD-RS232, or just you can use a level shifter (3.3V->5V).

Best regards,
