Title: Olimex ARM-USB-Tiny-H with pic32
Post by: TuxD3v on June 20, 2013, 06:07:35 AM
Hi,
pic32 have a mips4k and a jtag option to use...

Serching I found this project, that managed several debuggers from olimex to work with pic32
http://code.google.com/p/ejtagproxy/wiki/About

For what o understand mips have a 4-wire MIPS Enhanced JTAG interface

but the standard have 20 pins... is this easy to use ?
I don't know if it will work with mplabx?

any one have tried?

thanks in advance

regards
tux

Hey Tux,

We haven't tried the JTAG interface of the PIC32 boards we sell but I've heard people (Linux professionals) have been using our OpenOCD debuggers with PIC32. For the cable job please check here: https://code.google.com/p/pic32prog/wiki/README (https://code.google.com/p/pic32prog/wiki/README) - located at the bottom part of the page.

Also check this Olimex blog post: http://olimex.wordpress.com/2012/07/23/ejtagproxy-opwn-source-gdb-interface-for-pic32-and-mips/ (http://olimex.wordpress.com/2012/07/23/ejtagproxy-opwn-source-gdb-interface-for-pic32-and-mips/)

There wouldn't be such support for the MPLABX IDE, I believe. They have support for their REAL-ICE for the MPLABX, however.

Best regards,
