Title: SAM9-L9260
Post by: amidi on June 11, 2013, 10:06:27 AM
I have one question about SAM9-L9260.
I have bought L9269 board and want to extend number of USART surfaces with Quad uart IC.
I want to install this board with Linux first and QNX, so I must understand that can support Linux this IC?

thanks

Hey amidi,

A board made by Atmel with AT91SAM9260 is supported in QNX according to their web site. Here are the instructions: http://tinyurl.com/kgehq8r (http://tinyurl.com/kgehq8r). However note that our board and their board have different memories and peripherals so adjusting would be required. Still, the processor is supported.

There are kernel patches available at our web, and also the board is pretty popular. Some people have ran Ubuntu on it: http://wiki.hive76.org/SAM9-L9260_Hacking (http://wiki.hive76.org/SAM9-L9260_Hacking). Some people have added Android support: https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/omap/+/glass-omap-xrr02/arch/arm/mach-at91/board-sam9-l9260.c (https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/omap/+/glass-omap-xrr02/arch/arm/mach-at91/board-sam9-l9260.c). Overall the information on how to get the things going is not sparse, despite Olimex being inexperienced with Linux.

Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX
