I have a OLIMEX MSP430-CCRFLCD EVB and installed OLIMEX_MSP430_PROGRAMMER_GUI_1.3.0.4_CLI_2.0.1.2_DLL_1.0.4.2.zip with the driver OLIMEX-MSP430-DLL-drivers-1.042.zip. I also has the JTAG MSP430-JTAG-TINY-V2. When I using the programer with SpyBiWire option checked, it cannot identify the device. If I using the full JTAG connection, it is no problem. Can any help me to solve my problem? Thank you very much.
I also tried to replace the dll files from OLIMEX MSP430-DLL drivers 2.007. It is also not working :-[
Hey alanchansl,
This is strange. It works fine with SBW here. I used 2.0.0.7 version of drivers.
I also added the new device at the end of the "olidev.ini" in the Olimex MSP programmers software folder as:
:CC430F5137 00008000 0000ffff 00001800 000019ff
And then selected CC430F5137 from the drop-down menu.
My successful read is shown here: http://i.imgur.com/4z0LwlQ.png (http://i.imgur.com/4z0LwlQ.png)
P.S. Try disabling the calibration area; additionally check if the board is properly power and if powering from the JTAG then PIN jumper should be closed, POUT open.
Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX
Hi Lub/Olimex,
Thank you for your response.
I followed your advice, I am still not able to use the SBW and it display the dialog box "Cannot identify target device!"
When I use MSP-FET430UIF, it can detect the device without problem.
Any others advice for me?
Alan.
Hey alanchansl,
Did you also notice the SBW connection on our debuggers differ from the TI one? https://www.olimex.com/Products/MSP430/JTAG/_resources/SPY-BI-WIRE-CONNECTION.jpg (https://www.olimex.com/Products/MSP430/JTAG/_resources/SPY-BI-WIRE-CONNECTION.jpg)
