Title: IMX233-micro using MOD-wifi
Post by: TVC on March 17, 2013, 10:58:07 PM
Hello

I bought the olimex IMX233 micro and the MOD-wifi which you can find by clicking on the following link: https://www.olimex.com/Products/Modules/Ethernet/MOD-WIFI/ (https://www.olimex.com/Products/Modules/Ethernet/MOD-WIFI/). I am using the debian distribution you can find on the olimex website.  8)
I want to use the wifi connection to set up a FTP connection so I can easily program the system board. I control the board by using a USB connection. This works perfect.
The WIFI module needs to be connected by UEXT. This port is available on the micro when you use the wright IOpin's. I connected it liked it is described in the datasheet but how do I need to use the UEXT port and do I need to install drivers for the module?

MOD-WIFI is not supported in the imx233 Linux image, MOD-WIFI could be used but someone must write driver for it.
you can use MOD-WIFI-RTL8188 with imx233 as it's supported in the linux image https://www.olimex.com/Products/Modules/RF/MOD-WIFI-RTL8188/
