Title: Grateful for any advice or tips.

Hi all

I just received a FreedomBox from Olimex and I would like to install Void on it. I am not sure which platform is right for the Lime2 (Allwinner A20). Has anyone succeeded with this?

Grateful for any advice or tips.

My thanks in advance!

If you don't want to use FreedomBox, you can always use Olimage:

https://github.com/OLIMEX/OLINUXINO/blob/master/DOCUMENTS/OLIMAGE/Olimage-guide.pdf

or maybe general purpose Debian, follow the standard Debian install procedure, look here:

https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Allwinner

and here (there is firmware.A20-OLinuXino-Lime2.img.gz entry):

https://deb.debian.org/debian/dists/bookworm/main/installer-armhf/current/images/netboot/SD-card-images/

Also any Linux image that you can find for the main boar A20-OLinuXino-LIME2 should at least boot.

Notice that it is not guaranteed that Linux images beside Freedombox one would have HDMI otuput enabled by default and all peripherals working. Some might need additional software configuration.
