Title: WIFI module on the olinuxino-a13-wifi??
Post by: zuntti on December 31, 2012, 04:20:24 PM
does anybody have an actual datasheet of the chip (RTL8188CUS) on the wifi module (https://www.olimex.com/Products/Modules/RF/MOD-WIFI-RTL8188/)? I've been trying to google for it but apparently realtek plays their cards very close to their chest ;) The reason I'm interested is that the wifi chip gets very hot when the A13 is running. I measured 77 degrees celcius at 24 degrees ambient temperature. I used FLIR thermal camera for the measurement, and I can upload a picture from it somewhere if it's needed.

Thank you JohnS, it seems that 70 degrees is a normal temperature for this appliance. Any way I think is hot, I've planned to put in a box, some precautions should be taken
