Title: What must i do when i replace the Olinuxino processor
Post by: figoarzaki on May 30, 2017, 07:27:50 PM
Hello,
My friend had a A13-OlinuXino WIFI, and he fried the A13 processor, he dont know why the processor is blowing.
And he said he want to replace the processor instead of buying the whole new board, so i decide to help him to repair his board.
We already have the A13 and solder it to the board, but don't know what to do next, is it setting register or installing u-boot, we don't know what we must do to make the A13 work as usually.
so i decide to post it here to get a help.
thanks before

I think you're done.  It should boot.

Nothing extra needed. The chip contains everything needed for operation. We take no extra steps to configure the chip after assembly during production.

It might be another component that failed.

This is not so bad news - it means that at least there is something. If you wish to establish a connection to the bootloader via the mini USB connector you need to enter bootloader mode and install drivers. Look for the information on how to upgrade via LiveSuit (here: https://www.olimex.com/wiki/A13-OLinuXino#Using_an_operating_system_-_Nand_flash).

I would suggest testing with the latest official Debian image. Download it to microSD card and check if the board is working. The latest image is available here: https://www.olimex.com/wiki/images/2/23/A13_debian_34_90_mainline_u-boot_release_11_3.torrent

Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX

They have an internal boot rom http://linux-sunxi.org/BROM set by AW so if it doesn't work then you've a fault still, whether badly soldered CPU or another damaged chip.
