Title: Power jack and polarity
Post by: phuihock on November 21, 2014, 05:39:35 AM
Hi,
I'm new here. I would like to power my A20 board using power jack but can't determine if it is center positive or negative.

Will center positive 5V/3A power adapter work?

Thanks.

5V will not work. The range is 6 to 16V dc and centre pin is positive. See the schematic of the A20 for details.

With 5V input, the 5V DC-DC won't operate correctly.

Use a 12V 2A supply. It will draw around 500mA with an LCD connected and the 2A rating will allow surges.

It works for A20-OLinuXino-LIME and A20-OLinuXino-LIME2 boards these are 5V center positive
like already said A20-OLinuXino-MICRO is 12V
