Title: A20-SOM-EVB Android VGA
Post by: murerten on June 12, 2014, 03:57:32 PM
Hello everyone. I bought A20-SOM-EVB recently. I have build custom android. It works with 7 inch LCD. Now I want to run android on VGA monitor but I couldn't do it. I tried changing script.bin. The only thing happens is a white screen on the vga monitor. The resolution is correct as I want it to be. Now I want to ask if anyone did this? Is there a working script file configuration for using vga on android? Thanks.

I realized that after sometime white screen goes and after pressing the power button several times the android screen is successfully shown on vga display  :D But there are questions in my mind. This doesn't happen always. I will investigate this further and write here the news.

Hi Murerten

What kernel are you using for your custom Android? ...and are you using FEX or "dtb"?

I have A20-SOM-EVB and am struggling to boot even a basic kernel + dtb.

I am able to boot 3.16.0-rc2 ....if I use FEX/script.bin

Hi bruceuk,

I did those things that are explained in this page:

http://axonjakarta.wordpress.com/2014/02/14/olimex-a20-android-building-4/ (http://axonjakarta.wordpress.com/2014/02/14/olimex-a20-android-building-4/)

I am using fex files. The kernel version is 3.4.39.
