Title: A20 debian: Screen larger than Monitor
Post by: RD8 on April 24, 2014, 03:42:26 PM
Hi to all,

I use a A20-OlinuXino with debian with a TV on HDMI.
I can change resolution using the script "change_display_a20.sh", it works fine.

My problem is: on any resolution, it might be in an X-Server or on tty1 text screen, the Desktop/Screen is larger than my Monitor Display.

I also own a Raspberry, there I can use entries "overscan_left = -10" or simular in a "config.txt" file to correct this. When running XBMC on the Raspberry, I can also correct this by using a "zoom" feature of XBMC.

Can anyone help me to correct this on Debian A20?

And, in general, how can this happen?  :o I thought this occurs only with analogue signals on digital screens, but digital-digital should exactly match the pixels - shouldn't it?

Thanks for your help

I had the same problem and changed the monitor settings (on the monitor, not on the A20 board) to auto instead of the original setting and now the image fits in the screen.

Thanks Luis,

that solved my problem, thread can be closed.

Complete digital signal transfer, and the TV decides to overscan the screen - very strange...
