Title: making image when booting
Post by: RFranta on April 07, 2014, 11:33:18 PM
Hello,

on a13 there was a Linux penguin when booting, but on A20 it's just a blank window.
I would like to put some nice image here again. Can somebody help me and tell me how to do it please?

The kernel for A20 may be compiled without the bootup logo support. Look for file /proc/config.gz and search it for symbol LOGO_LINUX_CLUT224 (or just anything begining with LOGO).

I found this:
CONFIG_LOGO_LINUX_CLUT224=y

If the logo support is compiled, the problem may be in configuration of video output - the penguin may be displayed, but not on the current display.

Are you using HDMI or LCD?

I am running Android with the A20 and the HDMI output does not appear until the Android desktop appears. During boot, only the LCD shows the 2 boot logos.
