Dear all,
i just receive the A13 wifi, and i have a problem with the wifi, is very unstable.
I saw in this forum, other users have the same problem.
I download the last img A13 Debian 4GB SD-card image release-8 but the problem is also present in this img.
is there exist a patch or some correction??

i send you the result. When the board start the wifi is ok during few minutes, the ping is correct, but after the interface is always up but don't run.
I done what you send but i have the same problem.

Well, it is probably not the same issue, but just try to disable the Wifi power management as described in the link that I posted above.

Same problem here, Wifi is very unstable and stops completely after some data transfer, running Debian (official release 8.) or Android doesn't make any difference.
8192cu.conf was already edited with the rtw_power_mgt=0
For me the A13 board is completely useless (and money thrown away) because I really need the wifi connection for my project.
Somebody has the solution for this annoying problem?

Hey there,
Is it possible to confirm that your wifi modem/router/switch doesn't have any firewall or packet scheduler or anti-virus enabled?
Most of the newer devices on the market come with bunch of software installed and block communication with some boards based on some heuristic analysis performed or pre-programmed.
This is very often an issue.

I've planned a few tests but due to lack of time it can take a while.
- Connecting a 7" LCD so I can use the board on battery power
- testing the board on many places on different wifi accespoints / routers connected to different providers.
- Setting up an ADHOC connection between the A13 board and different laptops, tablets and other wifi capable devices
Had the board (running latest ver. 9 debian image) powered up for a few days now, "wifi connection signal box" stays around 95% all the time, as soon as I started data traffic today (just accesing a few websites) it tries to reconnect a few times (spinning symbol) and after a few attempts is says "no network connection"
For now I'm testing the board at work (a university hospital) where several SSID 's are transmitted on a 300+ AP's AeroHive wifi network where employees (WPA2) and visitors (unsecure) can connect.
Never got any complains that somebody was unable to connect, never seen the same problem with a lot of different wifi clients.

Please can you write down exactly the steps you take when the disconnect appears so I can try to replicate them here.
What data transfer causes this disconnect? Is there a specific web-site that you visit? Is reboot the only option after a disconnect? How do you power the board?

We have performed hundreds of tests and we have never been able to replicate the disconnect problem that are mentioned in some of the forum threads. We have received boards with this problem back and they work fine here.
There is no problem to replace the board just I'm not convinced it is an Olimex issue. And if it is an Olimex issue we can probably fix it if we are able to identify it.

I have several A13 boards and they all seem to work well with the latest releases.
If you want to check the routers etc., you could just plug in a USB-Wifi stick like the Edimax etc.
They're very cheap and will work with the releases without any changes - you just have to change the wlanx number and comment out the one for the built-in Wifi. This will show you if your problem is due to hardware or network.

Took the board at home and installed it very basic, just a VGA monitor, keyboard, mouse and power supply.
Running the latest Debian release ver.9
Connected seamlessly to my wireless home network, playing streaming radio for about an hour, downloading all the available upgrades......
Till now, not any disconnection happened
I will do some more test and keep you guys (and girls) posted.

(This is my 2nd (!) board because the first broke due USB hardware problem...)
I build my own SD card image according to the instructions on the Olimex site:

BUT:
1. The WIFI module gets HOT!?
I don't remember this happening on my first board.
2. The connection breaks in the middle of an apt-get install,

You say your problems were "solved" by using the Release 9 official image

I've already received my A13 Wifi. The main reason that I bougth this board is because it has Wifi. I was very excited to begin but Wifi is disconnected automatically. I downloaded the file. Then, unzipped the file with 7Zip. After this, I wrote the image on the SD memory.
Nevertheless, The problem persists.
On Android, the board is unable to connect with my wifi network.
I've probed Olinuxino with four different wifi networks, but the same problem.
I'm sure that I'm not the only one with wifi connection problems.So,What is the workaround for this problem?

The board can't connect to your networks at all? What client are you using for the wifi connection? Did you provid the correct information in /etc/network/interfaces?
The boards are tested for wifi connection before leaving the factory but anything can happen during transportation. If you happen to have a CISCO router... do the following.
Log into your router as admin
Go to Wireless-Advanced Settings TAB
change Transmission speed from AUTO to Legacy
I can confirm that this change worked for me and I had the exact same problems as described in this thread! :-)

I don't have a CISCO router. So, I can't change the Transmission speed from AUTO to Legacy. However, I can change others parameters such as Multicast rate,54g™ Rate or Multicast rate, basic rate but I don't have the option Legacy, I can chose 1Mbps,2Mbps,5,5Mbps...
What's mean the parameter Legacy in your router?

I've tested Olinuxino with several wifi and always happens the same, the wifi establish a connection and when I try to something with internet, the connection falls down.
Changing the topic, I detect that the board doesn't be able to reproduce any sound. When I try to do it, the board answer me with the following message: "Audio output failed","audio device could not be used". I suppose that I have to download some files but right now I can't because of the wifi problem. I'm using the Debian Image 9 that I found in a link of this forum. Where I can find a complete linux version for this board?
