Title: A10s-micro cannot display LCD
Post by: phanlam on November 12, 2013, 04:36:37 AM
Hi everyone!
My hardware is : A10S-OLinuXino-Micro + A13-LCD7-TS and I followed this instruction
http://olimex.wordpress.com/2013/10/28/building-debian-sd-card-for-linux-with-kernel-3-4-from-scratch-for-a10s-olinuxino-micro/

It can boot with HDMI, but, when I changed to LCD script,LCD display nothing, just black.
Does Debian support LCD display?
Please help.
Thanks
Sorry for my English skill.

Hello phanlam,

The official Debian has support for all displays made by Olimex.

Did you use the latest Debian image? It is available for download here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-bAEPML8fwlcHF6b2psRGd5Wlk/edit?usp=sharing (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-bAEPML8fwlcHF6b2psRGd5Wlk/edit?usp=sharing).

Did you try to change the resolution with "./change_display.sh"? How to do it is explained here: https://www.olimex.com/wiki/A10s-OLinuXino-MICRO#How_to_change_HDMI_and_LCD_resolutions_in_the_latest_Debian_image.3F (https://www.olimex.com/wiki/A10s-OLinuXino-MICRO#How_to_change_HDMI_and_LCD_resolutions_in_the_latest_Debian_image.3F). The resolution for the 7 inch display is 800x480. Note that selecting the proper resolution is performed with the "space" key.

Also note that the A13-LCD7-TS draws a lot of current, make sure your power supply is capable of providing at least 500mA.

Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX

Thanks for your rely,LubOlimex.
I will follow your guide tomorrow.
Btw, I don't intend to use Debian image.I intend to use the rootfs that produces by busybox. Is this possible to use this busybox rootfs with LCD support? ( I did this with HDMI support, it worked)
For more information, when i did follow instructions in this:
http://olimex.wordpress.com/2013/10/28/building-debian-sd-card-for-linux-with-kernel-3-4-from-scratch-for-a10s-olinuxino-micro/
then I copied the script.bin (for LCD7' 480x800) to the first partition, plug in LCD to the board, and turned on the board, I saw the message "Kernel panic" via USB-Serial-F cable and the board rebooted
but when i unplug the LCD, it can boot normally.
Do you have any idea for this?
Thanks
Best regards!

Hi All

I had the same issue with the A10S + LCD-TS.

New image but only working with HDMI.

Thanks in advance for some suggestion.
