Title: MOD-232
Post by: paulovas on November 03, 2013, 03:07:30 PM
Hello,

I buy MOD-IO last week, and work with inputs, outputs, analog everything work's ok. (work alone)

Now I need to connect to other device via RS-232 (using mod-rsr232). They are any sample?

Thanks.

Hey paulovas,

The newer firmware (that your board probably has) uses I2C interface to communicate - in this case MOD-RS232 would not help you.

The older firmware used RS232 communication. You might find it here: https://www.olimex.com/Products/Modules/IO/MOD-IO/resources/MOD-IO-UART_Commands.zip (https://www.olimex.com/Products/Modules/IO/MOD-IO/resources/MOD-IO-UART_Commands.zip). Unfortunately it is no longer uploaded to MOD-IO boards and you would need an AVR programmer to load it to the MOD-IO.

We don't have any examples for MOD-RS232 since it is a very simple board - gets the TX and RX from the UEXT, puts them through a MAX3232CDR and outputs them on DB9 connector.

Best regards,
