Title: trivial problem with the serial port
Post by: AndreaB on September 09, 2013, 03:53:10 PM
Hi,
I recently bought a 4GB card with A20.
I tried to connect with UART0 to see if it works correctly and instead I came across atrivial problem, but I can not solve:
using putty, from the console I can't see properly the boot sequence, but a sequence of random characters. I tried several combinations of speed, parity stop bit, etc. .. with no result  :( . Can anyone help me to figure out if the card is gone or to solve the problem?

Regards

Andrea

usually a speed compatibility problem or an error in the RX TX connection. make sure you are at 115200 bps and tx from conveter is connected to rx in the board and vice versa for rx from converter.

this worked from me from RPI's UART to OLinuXino UART (3wires)

screen /dev/ttyAMA0 115200
