Title: A20-SOM204: 3D model or mechanical outline
Post by: fchk on August 17, 2022, 11:44:38 AM
Dear Sirs,

For a new project I need a 3D (step) model of the A20-SOM204 module. Do you have one?

I can make my own, but I need mechanical outline drawing, either as pdf, dxf or just the Eagle .brd with everything but outline layer removed.

Can you provide this?

Thanks

Frank-Christian

The 2D dimensions for the SOM modules for KiCAD can be seen here: https://github.com/OLIMEX/SOM204/tree/master/A20-SOM204/KiCAD_platform_footprint_symbol

There is description how to open it.

You might also check the A20-SOM204-EVB's PCB, it is open source. It can help with distance to holes.

Unfortunately, we don't have trustworthy 3D models of our boards. The reason is that we don't need the height of each component to manufacture the boards, so the component libraries lack proper height of each component. My advice is to measure the height of the components of Olimex boards empirically.
