Title: MOD-GPS set baud 4800
Post by: Roux on July 31, 2014, 07:07:25 PM
I want to make ntpd on my A20 to use MOD-GPS as a reference clock.
ntpd needs gps running at 4800 bps baud rate.

I try to set it with $PMTK251,4800*14 command
and get response
$PMTK001,251,2*37

The last field "2" means "Valid command / packet, but action failed".
Is there any way to set 4800 for MOD-GPS?

Hello Roux,

It seems like you are using the proper command and the check sum (14) is also proper.

Few ideas:

1. Do you (your terminal program) send <CR> <LF> at the end?
2. Have you considered adding some delay after the serial begin and before the serial end (like 500ms)?
3. Is the module in NMEA (not binary) mode?

Best regards,
