Title: Powering the A20-SOM-EVB
Post by: ziggyfish on August 25, 2014, 05:01:21 AM
Got my A20-SOM-EVB this morning, very excited.

However it didn't come with anything to power the board although it did come with mounting screws. But unfortunitly I can't power it with screws. Well I don't think I can anyway.

Its going to cost me $28.37 AUD shipping for a $2.83 AUD cable to get it from Olimex. So my question is why doesn't it come with a basic power supply, is that to much to ask for?

What options do I have in powering the board?

Thanks

Brendan

Olimex make low cost boards; adding parts that most already have would defeat that.

The schematic shows the various power options from what I see.

The plug is a standard 2.1mm and it needs to be 12V at least 0.5A. Any electrical store should have one of these. Just buy it at a local store and save the shipping.
