Title: newbie question
Post by: gelfling6 on September 24, 2023, 02:14:20 AM
Greetings from Canton, Connecticut USA. recently acquired 2 A20-OlinuXino Lime 2's, and trying to find stand-alone software like gparted, or VNC. is there a repository of pre compiled software? I'm attempting to bring one up as a Samba/NAS, but not sure where to find sources. I'm a little more versed with the raspberry pi, and would like to tinker with the device before stepping into gpio connections. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get them from online sources. Use apt get as you would typically use in any other Linux. Like:

apt get gparted

Standing with bad case of foot-in-mouth, when I tried it again, it worked.
like I said, strictly a newbie, practically a new machine to learn.  :-\
next step, setting up a link between the A20 and my main linux machine.  so-far, I seem to have gparted running, but now to set-up a ssh host, or see if there is a VNC style client.  Thanks  again

Olimex images should have SSH enabled by default. Refer to the manual here and search for SSH:
