The following information would help:

  • Which specific board are you using?
  • Have you connected the serial port? Can you see how far you are getting in the boot?
  • If the A13-Olinuxino-wifi, can you read the SD card if you first boot to Android?

There are a number of common problems in booting from SD, but you have not given much to go on as far as diagnosing the problem.

See other thread. Don't start seven of them.

Download my latest image.

dd if=olinuxino_xfce-r15.img /dev/sdb

DO NOT RUN FDISK. DO NOT RUN ANYTHING ELSE. DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE. THE ABOVE COMMAND DOES EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO DO.

Put the card in. Then give us the output on the serial console. All of it. If you do not get any output, then tell us EXACTLY what you are doing, and how you are doing it. Tell us what you have plugged in, how you have it plugged in, what program you are using to view the serial console, and what message you get.

HI JWISCHKA,
I HAVE CONNECTED PL2303 USB TO SERIAL CONNECTOR ON UART1 OF A13 WIFI BOARD.
I AM USING PUTTY TERMINAL TO SEE BOOTING.
IN PL2303 THERE ARE ONLY THREE PINS TX , RX AND GND.
I HAVE DONE PROPER CONNECTION BETWEEN SIGNAL OF UART1 CONNECTOR PINS AND PL2303 CONNECTOR PINS USING WIRES.
IN PUTTY I AM HAVING SERIAL CONNECTION LIKE /dev/ttyUSB0 AND SPEED 115200.
I CAN SEE ANDROID BOOT FROM NAND ON THIS PUTTY TERMINAL.

THIS TIME I HAVE JUST FORMATTED MY SD CARD AND RUN DD COMMAND GIVEN BY YOU TO COPY THE R15 IMAGE.

SO I M GETTING FOLLOWING WHEN I COPIED THE IMAGE ON SD CARD.

root@gmd5:/home/gmd5# dd if=/home/gmd5/Desktop/olinuxino_xfce-r15.img of=/dev/sdb
dd: writing to `/dev/sdb': Input/output error
428209+0 records in
428208+0 records out
219242496 bytes (219 MB) copied, 36.3005 s, 6.0 MB/s
root@gmd5:/home/gmd5# dd if=/home/gmd5/Desktop/olinuxino_xfce-r15.img of=/dev/sdb
7744512+0 records in
7744512+0 records out
3965190144 bytes (4.0 GB) copied, 34.8142 s, 114 MB/s
root@gmd5:/home/gmd5#

AS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS SOME PROBLEM IN FIRST WRITE SO I AGAIN COPIED THE IMAGE.
SO I AM GETTING FOLLOWING ON MY PUTTY TERMINAL .THIS TIME I AM GETTING BOOT FROM SD CARD BUT ONLY FEW LINES AND AT THIS TIME THERE IS NOTHING ON MY VGA PORT. I AM RUNING UBUNTU ON MY PC.

U-Boot SPL 2012.10-40268-gf925eea-dirty (JAN 20 2013 -15:46:58)
DRAM: 512MB
SUNXI SD/MMC: 0

this is the only thing i am getting.
is my memory card corrupted or there is something else.
i am having 16 gb sundisk sd card and it is new.
