Stand Alone Mode of MSP430-JTAG-ISO Olimex notes that MSP430-JTAG-ISO stand alone mode will be supported only up to 1.039 firmware. The problem is that internal Flash of MSP430-JTAG-ISO is only 64K and can't support the new MSP430 devices with more memory than 64K in stand alone mode. The later firmware will support stand alone mode only in the new hardware revision of MSP-JTAG-ISO(new revision with SD card and LCD). So if you upgraded your MSP-JTAG-ISO with firmware version later than 1.039 it will not be able to work in stand alone mode. You have to downgrade MSP430-JTAG-ISO firmware to 1.039. In future we will make a specific utility for this purpose, but now you can simply replace current DLLs with these from 1.039 firmware and try to open a debugg session if you use IAR or try to program chip if you use OLIMEX's MSP programmer. So the firmware will be downgraded and you will be able to use older MSP430-JTAG-ISO in stand alone mode.
