PCB Assembly services
WHAT WE CAN DO?
- ROHS compliant process, SAC305 or SN100C
- PTH conventional components placement, wave soldering, cleaning
- SMD components placement, reflow, cleaning
- Assembly of boards with mixed PTH/SMD components
- Boards with components on both sides of the boards
- LGA, QFN, BGA packages assembly even in prototype quantity using optical
prism alignment machine
- cables, sockets, wire harness
- manual soldering of odd components
- AOI (automated optical inspection) with OMRON RNS Pth machine
- final in-circuit, functional, environmental stress tests
- quick turnaround - samall orders are performed in few days
WHAT INFORMATION WE NEED?
- Bill of Materials - BOM with these information fields:
1. component ID - same designator as on your PCB silkscreen
2. component value
3. component voltages/tolerances
4. package
5. where mount top or bottom
6. complete manufacturer/vendor part number including package info
-
Assembly drawings for top and bottom payers with component IDs and
orientation
- If there are special handling requirements for some components
- Sample assembled board (if incomplete documentation)
- List of critical components for incoming inspection
- Board marking, component tracking/history requirements.
- List of components for programming and programming data.
- Special flux / cleaning requirements
- Special handling and packing requirements
- Final inspection and test procedures
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW?
- Our minimum order quantity is 1 pce
- Some special components like BGA may require stencil manufacturing and programming
for P&P machine, so may be subject to expensive setup charges
- When your board have no silkscreen and is in small quantities for manual
assembly the price will be higher than if your board is with silkscreen
- When you use components on top and bottm your price will be higher as the
placement will be done in two passes on the line
- When you use 0402 and 0201 components for your prototypes will be subject
to expensive setup as these can't be soldered manually, even in the mass production
later your price will be double than if you use normal 0603 or 0805 components
as these components are usually assembling slower than the normal packages,
same apply for fine pitch ICs like 0.4 mm 0.5 mm step.
- if the boards are manually assembled and there is no AOI or functional test
there is always possibilities for mistakes during the assembly, specially
when the board have more components
Components OLIMEX have on stock (or can supply):
OLIMEX-STOCK- these
are generic parts we usually carry on stock and use in our development boards.
When you order your boards for assembly you can use our stock part # in your
BOM with prefix OLIMEX. For instance OLIMEX#859 CAP 0805 1 NF X7R 10% 50VDC
is valid part definitions.
All components which are not in above XLS table and need to be assembled should
be provided by the customer.
