Energy Micro is new Cortex-M3 startup company focused on low power. They
manage to squize down to 180 uA/Mhz from 32 bit microcontroller running from
Flash memory.
Build in LCD driver allow design of low power LCD panel gadgets as it consumes
under 1 uA, and they have 1Msps 12bit ADC, wow!
What we hear microcontrollers with USB peripherials and RF front-end are on
the way, so this will become pretty nice platform for data loggers and RF
sensor network applications.
PLUS:
Sophisticated peripherials. SPI, RS232, I2C working with DMA channels relief
the core.
Flexible power managment modes. Nice LCD driver. Inter peripherial matrix.
External-Bus-Interface.
GPIO ports are faster than on other ARM7s
MINUS:
Missing USB, CAN, Ethernet peripherials which are common for other Cortex-M3
vendors.
